Ulendo (meaning trip, or journey) is Air Malawi’s official in-flight magazine. I have begun publishing in the magazine (see my article from issue 19, Fort Mangochi) and just before hopping onto the plane for America I picked up the latest edition in which my tourism article on Mozambique Island was published.
Malawians in general don’t seem to do much visiting to their neighboring Mozambique unless there is a specific reason for trade. A lot of them still seem to think that guns are everywhere (due to the wars that sent millions running to Malawi for safety). So this is my attempt of luring them, and others coming to Malawi, to the historical gem that is Mozambique Island.
