South Africa

South Africa is truly a fantastic place to visit. It was especially nice to us in 2009 when we took our family’s first real holiday there on our way back from the U.S. We had been to RSA previously but it wasn’t under the happiest of circumstances as it was a medical evac that saved my daughter’s life. But we saw enough to know we’d want to go back the next time it worked into our family’s holiday schedule.

We spent time mainly in Cape Town, specifically in the small fishing village of Kommetjie with hops over to Simon’s Town (yup, the penguin colony) and Kalk Bay (great hippie spot) as well as Table Mountain and Cape Point.
